airport operating hours

Question

Is it true the airport is closed from 1:30am onwards? I arrived at the airport around 1 am and when I asked the airport staff where I can spend 3 hours before I check in for my next domestic flight, I was ushered to check into an airport affiliated hotel. And when I asked if I can go to Pullman nearby instead, they told me it's fully booked and closed it's door. It all sounded a little dodgy to me. I thought airports and 5-star hotels are open 24 hours. Please clarify. Thank you.

Well, yes, the airport and Pullman Hotel nearby the airport opens for 24 hours. But recently, the room reservation is tight. So you are suggested to book it in advance.In addition, I think the another reason is because of your limited stopover. The airport affiliated hotel is more convenient for you. Actually, you can just spend the three hours in a coffee shop or restaurant inside the airport if any of them open. Once upon a time, I missed my flight in Shenzhen airport and stayed overnight in a KFC inside the airport. And It's all fine.
