About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa at airport

In Shanghai, transit time is 18.30, in Beijing- 16 hrs. Please let me know, if I can get a instant entry permit in both places? Do I have to book these hotels from Canada now or can I directly go the hotel?

Hi, Selina, as your overall trasit time is more than 24 hours and you transit in two cities, it's very likely that you do not qualify for the 24-hour nor 72-hour entry permit exemption. So you need to get a transit permit G type from the CVASC office. One is enough for entering both Beijing and Shanghai. You only need to show your tickets, passport, application form, and recent photos for the application. The hotel reservation is not required, so you don't have to book hotels in advance.
