What is "Proof of no criminal record abroad recognized by Chinese embassies or consulate offices"

Hi, I have been working in China for 13 years, obtaining a new Z visa every 3 or 5 years. I work in the High-tech sector, am married to a Chinese national, own a home in Shenzhen, etc. I've compiled all of the documents necessary, except the "Proof of No Criminal Record". It seems that I will need to travel to the US to acquire this document, but before I do, is there any document that clearly defines what type of report is recognized by Chinese embassies or consulate offices? I don't have time to go to the US several times trying to obtain the "right" document. Thanks!

Leroy, you should get this non-criminal record from the FBI office. Then have it notarized by a notary public. Next, take this document to the embassy or consulate for authentication.
