Getting from Nanning bus station to train station

We´ll arrive by bus from Yangshuo. Provided our previous China travel goes smoothly, we´d spend a day in NN City, so no problem changing stations. However, in case of time shortage, we´d arrive at the bus station (buses from Yangshuo) at about 14:30 PM in the afternoon and take the overnight train to Hanoi departing the same day at 18:00. I´ve read the bus station and the train stations were a long way apart. What would be the best way to get from the bus station (Yangshuo buses) to the main train station?

The bus probably stops at Langdong Bus Station. Well, that bus station is about 7 miles to the train station. The public bus No. 704 runs from the long-distance bus station to the train station directly, and the bus ride is about 30-40 mins. If taking a taxi, the fare is about CNY30, and the duration is around 20 mins.
Don’t worry. Your time is enough for the transfer, just take your time.

Cathy - many thanks, that puts our mind at ease. Meanwhile, we were able to find out that the bus from Yangshuo stops at the Langdong bus station, so your info is spot on. Good to know how much the taxi fare is approximately, we´d take the local bus, bus in case the bus from Yangshuo would be late, taxi could be our only option to make sure we don´t miss the train, I read there could be long lines in front of the ticket offices at NN station, which apparently is the only place in China where the train tickets NN - Hanoi can be bought.
