Best way to visit Wutai Shan, hanging temple and yungang caves

Hi, what is the easiest way to visit the mountain complex, the hanging monastery and the yungang caves, in a couple of days? We'd be coming from Beijing and then getting the sleeper train (ideally) from datong on to xi'an. Can you go directly from Beijing to wutaishan, and from there to datong via the hanging monastery? Also, we would be visiting in November, will these still be open? I know the mountain is very high, that's okay, we will be prepared for very cold weather, but will there be buses etc?

Thanks! M

1. From Beijing to the mountain, you can take direct train from Main Railway Station. The trains depart at 17:17 and 22:17. It takes 6 to 7 hours on the way. The ticket fare of soft sleeper is CNY152.5 and hard sleeper is CNY104.5.

2. After touring around, there are several long-distance buses that can take you to Datong via the temple. As I know, the schedules are 08:30 and 13:00. The duration is about 4 hours.

3. After arriving at Datong Bus Station, you can take a taxi to get to Yungang Caves directly.

Generally speaking, these three scenic spots will still open at that time. So it will have long-distance bus in November. But the buses may suspend if the weather conditions are bad. You are suggested to keep close attention on the weather forecast before leaving.
