About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

is it possible to change a L visa into student type after I arrive?

Hi I'm planning to go to Beijing for 6 months to study acrobatics but I haven't received their acceptance letter. I've spoken to other people at the school and they said they got a L type and the school helped them change it into a student type when they got there. My concern is that on my ticket I'm buying it'll show that I'm going to be there for 6 months, will they give me a problem about it even if I tell them that the school will help me change it when I get there?

Dolores, seriously, it's illegal to to study with L type, according to the law. But some schools are able to help their students to change L type into X type. I think you should confirm this with your school regarding of this. When you apply for L type, please do not tell that you plan to study. Otherwise, your application will be turned down.

Ahh okay thank you so much for the help. When I say study acrobatics I really meant go there and train acrobatic, does that make any different or no? I should be able to get the x2 or the x1?

If you just want to study acrobatics, I think you are unable to acquire X1 type. It requires JW202 form. So you should apply for X2. It just needs the admission letter from your school.
