About:China Customs Declaration

Hi. What is the best banking option for a U.S. citizen woking in China for a year?

Hi. I will be working in Chengdu on a Z visa for about a year. I will be paid in Chinese currency. What are the best banking options? Are there any banks that can be accessed from both inside and outside China?

Also, is it advisable to use credit cards in China?

Thanks.

Matt, I think Bank of China is your best choice. It has many overseas branches. But I am not sure if your company will apply a wage card for you. If not, you can go to any BOC branch to open an account.

Yes, credit cards can be used in mainland.
