I have a lady friend on mainland China who wants to visit me here in Canada. What has to be done for her to travel and what costs are involved . George

First, she needs to apply for a valid visa. If she doesn't have a Chinese passport, she should get the passport first. Then she can entrust an agency to help her with the application if she doesn't know English. Usually, air tickets are required when she apply. So basically the costs include visa application fee, air tickets and some spare money to support her travel.
