I am a UK citizen who is currently living and working in Italy. My trip is planned for October 8th departure. My Italian friend, who is also travelling with me, will be in London during the next 4 weeks. Can he make the appointment and submit my documents instead of me?

Well, Ann, as you are now in Italy, you should apply from the CVASC in Italy rather than in UK. Anyway, if applying from Italy, you can ask others to make appointment and submit the application documents on your behalf.
