About:China Transit Visa

Transit time 82 Hours

My transit time from when my flight arrives (1220am) (august 17th) to when it departs is 82 hours (august 20th) (12:00 pm). Would it be possible to sleep in a hotel in the airport for 8 hours and then arrive to the airport back a few hours earlier

Zac, which airport will you transit at? According to my knowledge, the airports (except Beijing) all count 72 hours free transit from 00:00 next day after you arrive. So you should be qualified for the 72 hour transit if you transit at other airports where the policy is implemented. You can exit and renter the airport during your free transit.

Zac, Beijing airport counts 72 hours from the moment you go through the procedure and get the free transit, according to other travellers. However, I also heard that it might be counted from the arrival time too. I think you might make a call to to the airport immigration at 0086-10-56095400.
