Rejected to enter China

hi guys
I came to China last March to study master degree and I hold M visa, after I passed the gate and got the entry stamp , the police man figured out that I came for study not for business, so they stopped me and cancelled my M type and the entry stamp, I still have admission in China university, can I apply for X type and enter for study or I am not allowed to enter anymore?

Don't worry, you can apply for the X type. The rejection for entry may have some influences on your application but it doesn't mean that you cannot enter anymore.
