How to get a tranist visa?

Our 5 people would like to travel Hainan for 5 days with free visa, then can we flight to Beijing from HN without visa and get tranist visa(3days)in Beijing? Then we will leave for US from Beijing. Thank you!

I'm afraid your way does not work. As I know, it is hard for US citizens to get visa on arrival in China. So you'd better apply for the transit visa in advance in the Chinese embassy or consulate near your home for the transfer in Beijing.
