About:China Visa on Arrival

I am Irish and arrived Hong Kong yesterday. Is it possible to get a normal tourist visa from here?

Or if I get to China possibly extend my visa when I get to the mainland? I emailed Chinese embassy in Ireland and Tokyo (I'm doing a bit of travelling) and nobody got back to me. Any help would be much appreciated

Marty, it's required that you should have HK residency if you apply from there. If you don't have, I'm afraid you can't get it. I suggest you contact some agencies and see if they can get it for you.
