Thanks Fendi for your reply. I have arrived. I took a taxi from airport and when it reached 8 rmb the driver turned off the metre. I took a photo of his drivers ID which he didn't like. Despite the fact that I had the address in chinese for the hotel he arrived at the wrong one. When I arrived at the correct hotel the cost was 60rmb and when I asked for a receipt he promptly returned 10 rmb. Unfortunately because of stories of dodgy taxis drivers I and other English speakers are wary when travelling in China. This should be stamped out to stop it festering. We have all been to other countries like this and won't visit again. Because of business I have little option but to visit China.
