About:China Train

Is it possible to book 4 train tickets for a soft sleeper and get them all in the same cabin?

I saw that soft sleepers are subdivided in compartments with 4 beds. Since I am travelling with three other friends I wondered if there was a way to ensure that we end up in the same cabin.

Yes, as long as you book early enough, at the time that the tickets are released to sale, normally you could get four tickets in one cabin.
