About:Chinese Crew, Resident and Journalist Visa

I am a oversea Chinese and Chartered Engineer.

i wish to buy some properties and retire in China. How do I go about applying for the resident visa?

Tang, I'm afraid you can't apply for the residence (D) type. It requires you to submit a Confirmation Form for Foreigners Permanent Residence Status issued by the Ministry of Public Security of China, which means you have to get the permanent residence status before going about applying for the D type.
