Australian Citizen applying for Chinese Visa while Holidaying in Italy

I am travelling around Europe before moving to China to study for 6 months. I need to apply for an X2 type. I am an Australian Citizen and am wondering whether I would be able to apply for it at the Rome Chinese Visa Centre. I will only be in Italy for 1 week so would hope to get the rush service.

Have any foreign citizens successfully applied for a Chinese entry permit in Rome before?

Michael, it's possible that you can apply for the X2 type at the CVASC in Rome.
