About:Jiangmen Travel

I would like to visit my father's Ma Tou Village in Taishan.

Are there trains from Guangzhou to Taishan? Or do I have to take train to Jiangmen, and then take local bus to Taishan? If travelling by bus from Guangzhou, how many hours would it be to JM, and then to Taishan?

Well, you should refer to the Ma Tou Village, Shenjing Town. You don't have to go to Taishan for a transfer. A transfer in JM is enough.

You can take a high speed train from Guangzhou South to JM in around 50min. Then head for local Long-distance Bus Station to catch a direct bus to Shenjing Town in around 2h. Upon getting there, the distance to the village is around 15km. You can take a taxi or hire a car to reach directly.

P.S.: You can also take a direct long-distance bus from Guangzhou Provincial Bus Station to JM in 1.5h. Then at the same bus station, you can have a transfer. )

I found out it's the wrong village. I want to go to MATOU 马头 and not MATOUCUN 马头村. Why are the name similar? Is there a village 龍安 / Lung On? Apparently this is my ancestor original village, but it merged with Matou? Can someone verify this? Thank you.

They are the same place. Matou is a village of Shenjing Town.
The Long’an Village is in Duruan Town. It is about 60 miles between this two places, and you need figure out which is your ancestor origin by yourself.
