can i take a chinese visa even though i don't have exact date to travel in chengdu?

I'm want to visit my friend in CHENGDU. I currently working as a SEAFARER. I'm in EUROPE now a days. I'm planing to go vacation in PHILIPPINES in September and applying.

Tribu16, I am afraid that you can't. In your case, you should apply for a L type. It requires round-trip air tickets and hotel reservation. Or you can ask your friend to send you an invitation letter. In the letter, it should stately clearly when you come, where to visit, where to stay and when you come back. Besides, the applicants are suggested to apply around one month ahead of their trips.
