About:China Bank Acount, Credit Card, Traveler's Cheque

Why VISA card (issue by banks outside China) is not accepted by some merchants?

I tried using my VISA (issue in Singapore), but was rejected in Watsons Shenzhen. Some out merchants also did not accept, their machine unable to accept overseas credit card.

Chan, not all pos machines accept foreign credit cards. The merchants need to ask the bank where they get the pos machines to enable this function. I guess Watsons you visited didn't enable this function so that they only accept Chinese credit cards.
