About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours counted from the 00:01 from the next day via Beijing?

I've looked on another website and it says the 72-hour visa starts from the 00.01 the day following arrival if going via Beijing, can you confirm this?

Robin, if you transit in other cities, the 72 hours count from 00:01 of the next day. However, if you transit in Beijing, the 72 hours start from the time you have gone through all formalities applying for the free transit. Someone got contact with Beijing Immigration Office and was told this.
