There is no direct bus from the airport to Shantou. You are suggested to take a bus to Shenzhen for a transfer.
In the airport, you can take a bus to Capital Plaza Hotel. Upon arrival, you can walk about 140 yards to Baoan bus Station, where you can take the bus to Chendian directly.1

Or you can take Airport Express to Kowloon Station and walk to the General Cross-border Coach Bus Station on the underground of Scout Centre, no. 8, Austin Road within 10-15min. At 07:15 and 15:00, two buses leave for Shantou.1
