About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

[URGENT] Plane lands in Shanghai June.25 11:10 am and leaves on Jun.28 8:30 am

Plane lands in Shanghai June.25 11:10 am and leaves on Jun.28 8:30 am
By my calculations the total stay of time is 69 hours, 3 hours less than 72.

However, the '00:00 of the following day', in your example is making me confused.
Am I overstaying my welcome? or am I in the clear?

BTW, my flight starts from
Santo Domingo(Dominican Republic)-> Miami(US)-> Chicago(US) ->Boston (US) -> Hong Kong-> Shanghai-> STAY (69 hrs) -> Seoul (S.Korea)

I am not planning to leave the airport on any other places. I only plan to leave the airport and go to a hotel in Shanghai.

Hey, don't worry, you won't overstay and you are eligible for the 72h free transit scheme. The "00:00 of the following day" means that you can stay for more than 72 hours in fact. In your case, the latest time for you to leave is 23:59 of June. 28.
