Airport bus from hangzhou to shanghai

Is it necessary to buy the shuttle bus ticket for Pudong airport in advance and confirm the timings so that I know what time I reach the airport.

No, it is not need to buy the ticket in advance. You can easily get a ticket and board the bus on the spot and they leave on fixed schedule. By the way, the buses leave from the Wulinmen Civil Aviation Ticket Office.
