About:China Tourist Visa

Getting married In china within august/September on tourist visa

Im From Los Angeles US citizen and im heading to PRC in sichuan/chengdu this august to marry my girlfriend in her hometown in sichuan. i am heading there on a L type but after marriage i plan to stay and work there. My main question is what type of actions or paperwork should i prepare or anything essential before my departure i have around 1 month 1/2 and i just want to make sure it all goes smoothly regarding entry permit, marriage etc. thank you so much

Jonathan, if you want to work in China, you have to get a Z type and then convert the Z type into a resudence permit. The Z type is not related to your marriage, so you can start to find a job and deal with the application for Z type right now.

im only 23 so i could find a job and once hired get the Z type right?

Jonathan, after you find a job, you should first ask your boss to help you to get a work permit as well as an invitation letter from duly authorized unit. After that, you can apply for the Z type.
