About:Requirements for China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

If we are to stay in china to manage the company, what kind of visa is given?

We will be setting up a company in guangzhou. How can this be obtained? Do they give residency privilege for investors? Thanks - Jennifer

Jennifer, then you should apply for a Z type. Yes, there are some preferential policies for those foreign-invested companies. However, the policies are different from place to place. So you'd better consult with local entry and exit management bureau.

By the way, I suppose that residency privilege you talked about must be permanent resident permit. If so, you might try to apply for the PR issued to those who invest money in PRC. Opening a company is ok. However, it is required that you should have invested at least 2 million USD. Meanwhile, your company should exist and pay the taxes for at least 3 years.
