renovation to songzanlin monastery

Question

Hi we just came back from Shangrila yesterday. We were suppose to visit the monastery on 9th/10th June. But china local guide told us that we are not able to due to renovation works there. It was a great disappointment. Is it under renovation now and when will it be ready. Thank you

Yes, it has been under renovation since 2009 and it is not clear when the renovation will be finished yet. But it seems that people can still go there for visiting. Perhaps you can contact the scenic area for confirmation directly: 0887-8222455 or 0887-8232693
