About:China Work Visa

I just got my alien work permit booklet and residence permit.

My employer insists that the company should keep it. I am skeptical whether it is the rule, I want to ask if I, the employee, has the right to keep their alien work permit booklet during my stay here in China or should I just let my employer to keep it and just ask for it if in case I need to travel,etc.?

Rose, you have the right to keep your resident permit and work permit. The employer has no right to keep your documents.
