foreign expert certificate / temporary residence permit

Question

What happens, if applications for Foreign Expert Certificate / Temporary Residence Permit cannot be done within the 30 days of the working visa? Does the holder of the 30-day Z type have to leave China? Will he/she be on overstay if he/she doesn't leave the country after it expires, with the  certificate and residence permit applications still on?

Hi Martin, if the application for Foreign Expert Certificate / Temporary Residence Permit fails to be done within 30 days, I'm afraid the applicant has to leave China and the Z type will become invalid. If he/she doesn't leave after the Z type expires, the applicant will overstay. For details, you had better check them with the local police.
