Daiske, I don't think so. The Mid-Autumn Festival has a long history in China. I believe that Chinese people can do better moon cakes. If you buy moon cakes in China, then you should buy them at the supermarkets and qualified shops. Also you'd better buy some famous brands, like Dao Xiang Cun and Wu Fang Zhai.

Mooncake made from different countries taste different. I am from Malaysia and basically I think it taste better which my friends from Singapore and Hong Kong ( I gave each of them a box of mooncake made in Malaysia). Basically the texture, taste, sweetness of the fillings plus the skin of the mooncake are different. Malaysia mooncake generally has more moist in it and has smoother texture in the fillings. There are more than 30 different varieties ( due to creativity of the sellers ).
