About:China Tourist Visa

Hi there, im from the philippines. I'm planning to go to china next month.

My friend from china invited me so basically I need to ask an invitation from him. But My flight will be direct from cebu philippines to hongkong vice versa. But we will be taking a train from hong kong to china. I am just afraid if the consulate won't approve my application since it is not a direct flight from philippines to china.
Do I need to provide proof of financial in this kind of situation? Please help. Thank you.

Daryll, invitation letter is ok. You needn't provide round-trip air tickets and hotel booking. However, the financial standing is required if it is the first time that you visit PRC. Recent six months bank statement, BIR-stamped tax form and other materials are required.

Daryll, there is no official announcement or requirement on how much money you should take, according to Chinese embassy. According to what I found, you need to take enough money to support your trip in PRC. You need to prepare about 100USD per day and return air ticket at least.

It depends on how long duration of stay the consular officers gives. Usually duration of stay for an ordinary L type is around 30 days. However, I heard that some people just got 15 days.
