I'm unable to place the sofa again the wall, can i place my dinner table behind the sofa?

Vince, if you really can't place the sofa against the wall, then you'd better put something else such as screen or cupboard behind it. And it's ok for you to put your dinner table behind the sofa too. However, you'd better pay attention to your dinning table. It shouldn't face your front door or toilet.1
