About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do i meet China's 72 hour Visa requirements? Do the connection flights make me ineligible?

I am Canadian. My intention is to visit PEK for 3 days.
I fly from Japan FUK to PEK via PVG (just a connection flight on China Eastern).
When I leave its PEK to BKK via Chongqing (Again, just a connection flight on China Eastern).

Unfortunately, you are not qualified because your flights stop by Shanghai and Chongqing. According to the rule, your flights can only transit in one city where 72 hours free transit policy is implemented.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. This guidance has saved from a huge mistake at the border. I'll apply for one.
