Book tickets in advance or on the spot?

Hello, may I know if it is highly advisable to book train tickets in advance for Chengdu - Leshan - Emeishan? Or should I buy on the spot?

Because the fares are cheap but if I book in advance, there'll be a booking fee of US 5 / ticket, which makes it expensive. Many thanks in advance!
