Karan, you should apply for S1 type for your wife and baby. This doesn't require air tickets. Instead, you should issue an invitation letter, copies of your passport information page and your resident permit for employment. When they apply, they should provide the marriage certificate and your baby's birth certificate. Of course, you should apply a passport for your son.

Meanwhile, you'd better let your wife have your marriage certificate and your baby's birth certificate certified by your Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then authenticated by Chinese embassy. Because they are required when they change S1 into temporary resident permits.
