The living cost in Kaifeng is much less than US. Including house rental, transportation and regular meals, CNY1,500-2,000 is totally enough.1

That is only about $500 a month? Seems low. Am I missing something?

Charles, I am afraid that it isn't that cheap. If you plan to rent an apartment to live, then the rental should be around CNY 1000 to 2000 per month. It depends on your requirements. If you cook, then you need around CNY1000 for the transportation and meals.1

Sorry for being dense. My conversion table says 6 CNY for each dollar. Hence CNY 2000 is $320 approximately. I am missing something and I apologize.
