About:Chinese Consulate in New York

I will be visiting my son from7/22 to 8/5 and his visa expires on 7/31.

he will continue to stay on in china for his work. I already have my airline ticket. I am a nervous wreck. I am going to apply for the S1 type. Do you think I will still be denied? When can he apply for a new one?

Deb, to play it safe, you should go to visit him after he renews his reident permit for Z type. You know, copies of his resident permit and passport information and an invitation letter from his are required. If you apply for S1 type before he renews his resident permit, I am afraid that there is a big chance that you will fail because his resident permit is going to expire on July 31.
