About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can i visit the Great Wall near Beijing if I'm on a 72-hour visa?

I am unclear if the Great Wall is considered part of Beijing, and how the Chinese authorities would even know if you left the city you enter in.

Hey, a part of the Great Wall runs through Beijing, so during the 72-hour stay, you can visit the Wall. If you stay in a hotel in another city, the hotel will register it to the police, so the authorities will know you have left Beijing. There might be other ways that the police will track your whereabouts too.
