Hi I'm going to Guangzhou with my guitar

Hi I'm going to Guangzhou from Melbourne with my 40-inch-or-so guitar (it has a wooden case). Is it allowed if I want it hand-carried? I don't want it be put into the checked in area which it would probably be damaged……
And I want to ask the same question about domestic flights in China cuz I would travel to some other cities in China.
Thx in advance!

According to the policy, they need go with checked luggage. But see from some online feedback, some of them did take their guitar as carry-on luggage. If unluck, you may need to buy a ticket for your guitar at the airport. It is the same for some domestic airlines.
