Janet, theoretically you can enter and reach the transit area on the last day of your entry permit and then keep waiting for your plane. But I think it will be safer to change your flight date. You know, if you enter the airport on the day your flight takes off, then you might be caught and pay the fine. Paying the fine isn't a big deal. But your "overstaying" might affect your future applications for Chinese entry permits.1
