Why can't I use my Crew VISA to visit China as a tourist?

Isn't it the same application process? Kevin Wendland

Kevin, the Crew entry permit can only be used to enter China when you are working with the aircraft or ship. If you want to visit as a tourist, you have to apply for the tourist L type.
