About:Marriage Registration in China

Marriage certificate. Can I get it from the Dalian Civil Affairs Bureau,and if so,then how?

I was married at the Dalian,China Civil Affairs Bureau on April 22/2011 to a Chinese woman.I'm a citizen of New Brunswick,Canada.I now need the original Marriage certificate as I'm divorcing this woman.How do I get it,as a copy is no good.I need the original.

Gerald, by the time you get marriedat the Cival Affairs Bureau, the officer should give you both a marriage certificate. Have you lost it? If you can't provide the original copy, you can go to the bureau with your passport and ask the officer to search for your marriage registration information in their system. Then ask for the reissuance of your marriage certificate. The information is just for your reference because the real pratices in different provinces vary.
