can I use free airport express direct to metro park hotel kowloon from airport for 4 adults   - does this go direct or do I need to catch a shuttle bus thanks

AE cannot directly take you to your hotel and a transfer to shuttle bus is needed. So you can take the AE train to Kowloon Station, then take the free shuttle bus K5 to the hotel directly.
