About:Datong Travel

I will be travelling to Datong end of June.

And any recommendations on a comfortable hotel in the city; conveniently located?

I will mainly visit the Yungang Grottoes and the Hanging Monastery. Is it recommended to buy entrance tickets in advance or is this not necessary?

Not knowing your budget, I can just give you the general suggestion about the accommodation:
The Chenguang International Hotel at no. 68, East Yingbin Road and Haohai International Hotel at no. 46, Weidu Avenue are recommended.

The attractions won't be that crowded in end of June, so it is fine to buy the entrance ticket on the spot. Have fun!
