Great Wall covers a large area of China and the closest sections from Beijing are Badaling, over 43 miles away and Mutianyu, around 45 miles away.
To Badaling, you can take a direct train from Beijing North Railway Station (near Xizhimen subway station) and it takes around 80min. To Mutianyu, one can take bus no. 867 bus that departs at 10:00 and 12:00 and get off at Mutianyuhuandao. Then walk to the ticket office in 3min.0
