About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

What is required to apply for the R1/R2 visa?

Can I do it in Tokyo? It's not possible to go my home country as I haven't lived/worked there for over 16 years. I'm professional with high degree in IT.

Hi, you can do it in Tokyo. I would suggest you first contact the embassy or relevant authorities of the Chinese government for requirements on high-level talents and individual personnel with special skills urgently needed to see whether you are qualified and get all the things prepared. Only after then can you submit the application.

They keep saying "relevant authorities of the Chinese government for requirements on high-level talents and individual personnel with special skills urgently needed to see whether you are qualified and get all the things prepared. Only after then can you submit the application."

Which chinese government are you talking about? They never published that stuff.

There are no relevant authorities. Who if any? What requirements? Which skills?

I know I fit the bill. How do I apply? What do I need to apply? It shouldn't require job offers.

JK, actually not much information on the R type can be found on the internet. The relevant authorities can be the PRC Foreign Experts Bureau or the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. You can contact these two organizations to find out more details. The contact number is 086-010-68948899 ext. 50630 or 50633.
