About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Residence permit expires a day before my flight

Hello. I originally got an X2 student type as I'm staying in the country for less than 6 months; this would have expired on August 15th. However, I recently got my residence permit in order to have more entries into the country, which expires on July 31st. My flight home is currently scheduled for August 1st, the day after. I understand the residence permit cancels out my previous X2 type, so what happens if I'm in the country a day longer than I'm supposed to be? Is there any sort of grace period to get out of the country after the expiration date? Do they even check that at the airport when you're leaving? Do I need to change my flight? (Sorry for so many questions.) Thank you!

You know, you actually can check in a few hours earlier before your flight takes off. Your resident permit expires 24:00 of July 31. If you check in before 24:00, then you won't have a problem. When will your flight take off?

However, if the time span between check-in time and departure time is too long, then I think you'd better change your flight, to play it safe.

Thank you for your answer! Yeah unfortunately it's a late flight, 9 pm. So still less than 24 hours, but maybe I can just change to one that's earlier in the day. Thanks again!
