Woman traveling alone in Guangzhou

Is it safe for my 21 year old daughter to have a layover on her own in baiyun airport for 4 hours on her way to Bangkok? I will be traveling with her all over China but will be going our separate ways at this point in the trip?

Oh, don't worry about that.
Generally speaking, it's enough safe for your daughter to stay at the airport. 4-hour-layover is not a long-time. She can take a rest. :-)
