Are birds allowed into Shanghai?

I'm planning on taking my Cockatiel bird to Shanghai and I'm wondering if birds can be declared whilst entering China?

Tariq, I am afraid that you can't take the bird. According to the rules, only dog and cat can be taken into mainland China.
