About:How to Refund / Cancel a China Train Ticket

Cancelling or Changing dates/time

If I purchase tickets via ChinaTravelGuide.com or CTrip.com and need to cancel or change dates or time, will I be changed an extra cancellation fee by China Railway Corporation?

Yes, if you cancel it there will be cancellation fee charged. I read from the policy that 20% of the par value as the cancellation fee will be charged if you book from this website. For C trip, they do not accept any change or cancelation after ticket being issued. You need to go to the railway station and do it by yourself. As for the change for dates, it can be do for free once according to the policy. You can read more via their booking policy.

Ctrip is not a reliable company. We just came back from China. We booked round trip from Beijing to Xian using Ctrip. By the time we went to the train station to get our tickets, we could not get them because Ctrip mistakenly used wrong passport ID numbers. We called Ctrip but they were too busy denying their responsibility instead of helping us. We ended up had to cancelled our entire round trip from Beijing to Xian and the tour in Xian. Now we just found out that they charged 20% of our entire reservation as their cancellation fees.
